Health and Human Services

Healthy Links are Happy Links to a Healthy World!   The Health and Human Services Facet is committed to promoting the health of the members of the Atlanta Chapter of the Links, and by extension, our families, friends and communities.  Our focus is on developing programs that can invigorate our chapter members and provide an outlet for education and exploration of avenues to healthy living for others. We are engaged with our chapter’s umbrella program at King Middle School through ongoing symposia on mental health, oral health, and childhood obesity prevention. We provide opportunities for the students to learn the foundations of nutrition and they are empowered to make informed decisions about what goes into their bodies. They are also encouraged  to take advantage of the resources in their own community to maintain active lifestyles.

We have established several partnerships with existing programs to accomplish our goals.   In conjunction with the HEALing Community Center, Westside Communities Alliance, and the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, we sponsor Walk With A Doc every 1st Saturday at the Lionel Hampton-Beecher Hills Park.  We are also very proud to be a supporter of the Girls on the Run team at Camp Creek Middle School.   Both programs bring attention to the HeartLinks to Heart Health and Walk for Healthy Living National initiatives.   Through all of our programming, we aim to strengthen our bonds of friendship while we provide service to Atlanta.
